One of the features of Darwinism is 'survival of the fittest'. This states that the organisms possessing favourable variations (characteristics) would survive, because they are best adapted (naturally selected) to face their surroundings, while the unfit perish.
Pesticide-resistant insects are naturally selected to survive better than non-resistant insects.
