The pie chart given below represents the number of stationery items sold in a month at a shop. If the total no. of items sold was 1080, find the number of pens, notebooks, books and other items sold.
Pens - 360; Notebooks - 300;
Books - 195, Others - 225
We know if x fraction of total items is shown on a pie chart, angle θ=x×360∘
⇒ x=θ360∘;
where x=Number of particular items soldTotal number of items sold
∴ Number of particular items sold =θ360∘×1080
Pens =120∘360∘×1080=360
Notebooks =100∘360∘×1080=300
Books =65∘360∘×1080=195
Others = 75∘360∘×1080=225
