From raoult's Law we have:
pA=pAχAχA=pApA ....eqn(i)pB=pBχBχB=pBpB ....eqn(ii)
where pA,pB are the partial pressures of A and B repsectively
Also by dalton's law , we have :
pA=yA×PTpB=yB×PT

Put the values of pA,pB in eqn (i) and eqn (ii)

χA=yA×PTpA

χB=yB×PTpB

Also χA+χB=1

So, 1PT=yApA+yBpB1PT=yApA+1yApB
