Therefore, let the point on x-axis equidistant from (5, 4) and (–2, 3) be (x, 0).

Distance between two points (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) is given by (x2x1)2+(y2y1)2.

Distance between (5, 4) and (x, 0) = Distance between (-2, 3) and (x, 0)

(x5)2+(04)2=(x(2))2+(03)2

(x5)2+42=(x+2)2+32

x210x+41=x2+4x+13

14x=28
