Solution

For given line 3x − 4y − 8 = 0
For (3, 4) and (2, −6) are such that 3(3) − 4(4) − 8 = 9 − 16 − 8 < 0 and 3(2) − 4(−6) − 8 = 6 + 24 − 8 > 0
i.e. (3, 4) and (2, −6) lie on opposite sides of 3x − 4y − 8 = 0
