Poissons ratio, 0.4=Δd/dΔl/lΔll=Δd/d0.4-------------(1)

Taking log both sides:
logA=log(π4)+2logd
Taking relative change both the sides:
ΔAA=2ΔddΔdd=12ΔAA=12×2%=1%------------------------------(1)
From equation (1) and (2), the percentage increase length can be given as:
