We know tanθ=n2n1 ....(1)
Speed of light in air (n1=1) is c.
Speed of light in a medium of refractive index n2 is v.
Using n1×c=n2×v
n2n1=cv ....(2)
From equations (1) and (2), we get tanθ=cv
Or cotθ=vc
θ=cot1(vc)
