Solution

The correct option is B Cleistogamy
Cleistogamy is a type of self-pollination which takes place in those flowers which do not open. Thus, it is the process of transfer of pollen grains from anthers to stigma of the same flower as it occurs in an unopened flower. For example, Commelina, Cardamine.
Herkogamy, dichogamy and decline are mechanisms to promote cross pollination.
Herkogamy prevents self-pollination by forming physical barriers such as in the case of Alfa-alfa hyaline membrane is formed around anthers which do not allow dehiscence of pollens.
Dichogamy refers to the maturation of anthers and stigma of the same flower at different times The condition of maturation of pistil before anthers are known as protogyny such as in pearl millet and maturation of anther before pistil is known as protandry as in maize and sugar beet.
Dicliny refers to the unisexual flowers. The condition when male and female flowers are present on the same plant but are separate is known as monoecious such as mango, castor, banana. When male and female flowers are borne on different plants, it is known as a dioecious condition such as in palm, papaya, spinach etc.
Thus, the correct answer is option B.
