Given that:-

Old population =50,000

New population =58,000

Step 1:- Firstly find increased population:-

Increased population =New population - Old population

=58,000-50,000

=8,000

Step 2:- Finding the Increased percentage:-

We know that,

Increased % =IncreasedpopulationOldpopulation×100

=800050000×100%

=80000050000%

=805%

=16%

Hence, an increase % in the population =16%
