Solution

(a) When resources in the metro cities (habitat) are unlimited, each species has the ability to realise its innate potential to grow in number. Hence, population in metro cities tend to increase. Immigration is another cause.

(b) When resources present in the environment are limiting, the population in metro cities (habitat) tends to decline. Emigration is another cause.

(c) Population density at time (t+1) is written as-
Nt+1=Nt+[(B+I)(D+E)]

where,
B- Birth, D- Death, I- Immigration, E- Emigration
