The population of a state in 2011 census was 1.2 crore. If it is estimated that the population increases by 2.25% by every year, what will be the population in 2014?

Given present population = 1.2 crore, R = 2.25%, we have to find population after n = 3 years.
Population after 3 years = Present population ×(1+R100)n
=1.2×(1+2.25100)31.2(1+0.0225)3=1.2×(1.0225)31.28 crore (estimated to 2 decimal places.)
Therefore, population after 3 years is 1.28 crore.
