The population of a town in 1995 was 1600000 and in 2002 it was 2100000. Find the percent increase in population.

Initial population =1600000

New population =2100000

increase in population =2100000-1600000

=500000

Percentage increase =TotalincreasepopulationInitialpopulation×100

=5000001600000×100=31.25%

Hence the Percentage increase in the population is 31.25%
