x(0)=(0)24(0)=0 m

x(1)=(1)24(1)=3 m

x(3)=(3)24(3)=3 m

Magnitude of distance travelled from t = 0 s to t = 1 s = |-3 - 0| = 3 m

Magnitude of distance travelled from t = 1 s to t = 2 s = |-4-(-3)| = 1 m

Magnitude of distance travelled from t = 2 s to t = 3 s = |-3-(-4)| = 1 m

Thus the magnitude of distance travelled from t = 0 s to t = 3 s = 3 + 1 + 1 = 5 m.
