If follows from the figure that,
XCM=m1×0+m2Lm1+m2=m2m1+m2L
YCM=m1×0+m2×0m1+m2=0

i.e., the centre of mass is at a distance [m2L(m1+m2)] from m1 internally on the line joining the two particles.
