The correct option is A the baby is Rh+ and mother is Rh-
Erythroblastosis foetalis, which might occur during the second or subsequent pregnancies, is caused by the destruction of red blood cells (RBCs) of the foetus by the maternal antibodies which are produced in response to the Rh antigens present on the surface of the RBCs of the foetus. It is initially produced after the first pregnancy when the baby is Rh+ and mother is Rh-.
If the baby is Rh+ and mother is Rh- during the first pregnancy, there is chance that the child's blood will enter mother's body during child delivery.
If the child's blood enters mother's body, the antibodies against Rh+ is produced in the mother's body. During the second and subsequent pregnancies, these antibodies can destroy the RBCs of the foetus if the baby is again Rh+. This condition is known as erythroblastosis foetalis.
