Question

the potential difference between the terminals of an electric heater is 110V when it draws a current of 5A from the source. how much current will the heater draw and what will be its wattage, if the potential difference is increased to 220V assume that the resistance of the heater element does not change with temperature. no links!

Solution

Dear Student ,
V of Electric Heater = 110 V
I in Electric Heater = 5 A
R = V/I = 110/5 = 21 Ohm

V= 220 V
R= 21 Ohm (Proved)
I = V/R = 220/21 = 10.476 A
Wattage = P = VI = 2304.76 W
