Question

The potential difference between the terminals of an electric heater is 250 V, when it draws a current of 10A. What current will the heater draw, if the potential difference is increased to 300 V?

Solution

Dear student

first we find the resistance : using V = RI

250v = 10a x R

R= 250/10

R = 25 OHM

NOW TO CALCULATE CURRENT

GIVEN POTENTIAL DIFFERENCE :- 300 V

RESISTANCE :- 25 OHM

CURRENT :- I = V/R

300/25

I = 12 A

THEREFORE CURRENT = 12 AMPERE
