Potential is a relative quantity. By potential of a point we mean " the potential of the point with respect to infinity". By convention the potential of infinity is taken to be zero. So we have
VAVinfinity=10Vas Vinfinity=0,VA=10VIf Vinfinity=5V then VA5V=10V VA=15V
Hence, the potential at point A changes.
