Let the present age of the father be = x years, then sumit is
$\frac{x}{8}$ years old
After 4 years, Raman will be half as old as Father = $\frac{x+4}{2}=\frac{x}{2}+2$
6 years ago he was 8 years old $\Rightarrow$ 8 + 6 = $(\frac{x}{2}+2-4)$
$\Rightarrow$ $x=2\times 16=32$
Therefore, present age of sumit = $\frac{32}{87}=4years$
