Open in App
Solution

Let their ages be 9x and 4x.
By the problem,
9x+7/4x+7 = 5/3
3(9x+7) = 5(4x+7)
27x+21 = 20x+35
27x-20x = 35-21
7x = 14
x = 14/7
x = 2

A's age = 9x = 9*2 = 18
B's age = 4x = 4*2 = 8

Answer : A is 18 years old and B is 8 years old.
