Question

The present population of a town is 15625 if a population increases at the rate of 4% every year what will be the increase in the population in next 3 years

Open in App
Solution

It is like an compound interest problem with

P=Current Population=15625

R=rate of increase in population=4%

N=no.of years =3

A=population after 3 years =P(1+R/100)^3

=>Population after next 3 years = 15625(1 +4/100)^3 =15625*(104/100)^3
=15625*(26*4/25*4)^3
=15625×26/25×26/25×26/25
A=17576

Therfore increase in population after 3 years =A - P
= 17576 -15625
=1951
