The Pressure of the gas in a constant volume gas thermometer is 80 cm of mercury in melting ice. When the bulb is placed in a liquid, the pressure become 160 cm of mercury. Find the temperature of the liquid.

Since the volume of gas in thermometer is constant,

P1T1=P2T2

Since temperature of melting ice is 273.15K,

80273.15=160T2

T2=2(273.15)K=546.30K
