Let the cost of a pen = X
Cost of a book = X + 4
Cost of a pencil = X - 2
i.e., 5(X + 4) + 2X + 3(X - 2) = 74
5X + 20 + 2X + 3X - 6 = 74
10X + 14 = 74
X = $\frac{74-14}{10}$ = 6

Hence, cost of a pen = ₹ 6.
Cost of a book = ₹ 10
Cost of a pencil = ₹ 4.
