Solution

Step 1:Given information:

Price of an article=Rs.8,250

Rate of GST=10%

New rate of GST=6%

Step 2: Calculating list price:

Let the list price be Rs.y.

Then,

y+10%ofy=8,250y+10100×y=8,250y+y10=8,2501110y=8,250y=8,250×1011y=Rs.7,500

So, the list price is Rs.7,500.

Step 3: Calculate the amount paid by the customer.

Calculate the selling price.

Sellingprice=Listprice+6%ofListpriceSellingprice=7,500+6100×75,00Sellingprice=Rs.7,950

Calculate the lesser amount paid by the customer.

Amount=8,250-7,950Amount=Rs.300

Hence, the customer will pay Rs. 300 less.
