Open in App
Solution

Let price of x kg of sugar = Rs. 100
Increase in price = 20%
New price = 100 +20 = Rs. 120
For Rs.. 120, sugar obtained = x kg.
For Rs. 100, sugar obtained = x120×100=5x6 kg
Original consumption = 5x6 kg
Decrease in comsuption = x5x6=x6
Required % of decrease in consumption
= x6x×100=x6x×100=1006=503=1623 %
