The primary coil of a transformer contains 100 turns; the secondary has 200 turns. The primary coil is connected to a DC source that supplies a constant voltage of 1.5 volt. What is the voltage measured across the secondary coil?
0 volt
A transformer is a device that works on the principle of electromagnetic induction. A transformer consists of a soft iron core with two coils wound around it which are not connected to one another.
Here, the primary coil is connected to a DC source. (the flow of current is unidirectional). So, there would be no voltage across the secondary coil. A DC current does not induce an emf across a coil. So the voltage across the secondary coil will be zero.
