The probability that it will rain on a particular day is 0.64 what is the probability that it will not rain on that day?

Solution

Let A denote the event that it will rain on a particular day and ¯A denote the event that it will not rain on a particular day.

It is given that P(A)=0.64.

We know that P(A)+P(¯A)=1, therefore,

P(A)+P(¯A)=10.64+P(¯A)=1P(¯A)=10.64=0.36

Hence, the probability that it will not rain on that particular day is 0.36.
