The process by which sulphide ore is concentrated is called Froth Flotation.

  • Froth Flotation is a process that selectively separates materials based on whether they are water-repelling (hydrophobic) or have an affinity for water (hydrophilic).
  • This process is generally used in mineral processing, paper recycling, and waste-water treatment industries.

Three basic steps of the following process are given below :

  • The rougher, which processes the feed.
  • The cleaner, generates the final concentration.
  • The scavenger, which generates the final tailing.
