Evaporation:

  • Evaporation is a process in which a liquid changes into a vapor.
  • It occurs below its boiling point.
  • For example, the evaporation of water occurs below its boiling point(100°C).

Evaporation depends upon following factors:

  • Temperature: As the temperature increases the process of evaporation also increases.
  • Surface area: As surface area increases, evaporation rate increases as well.
  • Wind: As the speed of moving air increases, the evaporation also increases.
  • Humidity: As the water vapors increase in an atmosphere, the evaporation also decreases.

Thus the process of changing water into its vapor is called evaporation.
