Solution

The correct option is B Transcription
a) Transduction is the process of gene transfer wherein a foreign DNA, brought in a cell by viral particles, is incorporated into cell’s genome.
b) Transcription is the process of synthesis of RNA by RNA polymerase using DNA template strand.
c) Transversion is the substitution of purine base for a pyrimidine base or substitution of pyrimidine base for a purine base. Hence adenine is replaced with thymine/ uracil and guanine with cytosine.
d) Transition is the substitution of one type of base by other of its own type. Hence, purine is replaced with purine (adenine to guanine and vice versa) and pyrimidine is replaced with a pyrimidine (cytosine to thymine/uracil and vice versa) only.
So, the correct answer is option B.
