In the case of multiplication of improper fractions, the numerator of the fractions gets multiplied by a number greater than the one with which the denominator gets multiplied with. So, numerator would increase more than the denominator, so that the final number is greater than either of the two.
For eg, 72×94=(7×9)(2×4)
=638, which is greater than both, 72 and 94
