The proportion of nucleotides in agiven nucleic acid are : Adenine $18 %$ , Guanine $30 %$ , Cytosine $42 %$ and Uracil $1 %$ . Name the uncleic acid and mention the number of strands in it.

In the given nucleic acid, 18% adenines, 30% guanines, 42% cytosines, 1% Uracil are present. By the presence of Uracil, we can conclude that the nucleic acid is Ribonucleic acid(RNA) and the number of strands present in RNA is one.
