  1. Entamoeba histolytica goes through three stages in its life cycle namely, the trophozoite stage, pre-cystic stage, and cystic stage.
  2. The quadrinucleate cysts are released through the faeces of the infected person and they can get transferred to another person through sexual contact and also through the indirect oral pathway. This stage is the infective stage in humans.
