The radiations present in sunlight which make a solar cooker work are :
(a) visible light rays (b) ultraviolet rays (c) cosmic rays (d) infrared rays

Open in App
Solution

Ans ( b) and (d) Ultraviolet and infrared rays.

Solar cooking is done by means of the sun's UV rays. A solar cooker lets the UV light rays in and then converts them to longer wavelengths of infrared light rays that cannot escape. Infrared radiation has the right energy to make the water, fat and protein molecules in food to vibrate.
