Solution

The correct option is C 4πR3αΔT

Given,

radius of the sphere at room temperature is 𝑅.

Coefficient of linear expansion = α

Initial volume of the sphere, 𝑉=43πR3

As the temperature increases ΔT its radius increases, so its volume also increases.

So, coefficient of volume expansion,

γ=3α

Increase in volume ΔV=VγΔT

ΔV=43πR3(3α)ΔT

ΔV=4πR3αΔT

Final answer: Option (d)
