Question

The radius of the wheel of a car is 35cm. How many revolutions will it make to travel 33km?

Open in App
Solution

Radius of the wheel =35cm
Circumference of the wheel =2πr

=2×227×35cm

=(44×5)cm

=220cm

=220100m

=115m

Distance covered by the wheel in 1 revolution =115m

Now, 115m is covered by the car in 1 revolution.

Hence, no of revolutions to cover 1m=1×511

Thus, no of revolutions taken to cover (33×1000)m will be = 1×511×33×1000

=15000 revolutions.
∴ Required number of revolutions =15000
