Given:Temperature=300K

To find:Ratio of average molecular kinetic energy of PCl5 andO2

Solution:

We know that, average molecular kinetic energy for a molecule=32kT for a molecule.

(Where k is Boltzmann constant and T is temperature)

Average molecular kinetic energy ofPCl5=32k(300)

And that of O2 is=32k(300)=32k(300)

Required ratio=1:1

Hence (a) is the correct answer.
