Let number of boys be x and number of girls be y.
Then, it is given that,
xy=74
4x=7y .......... (1)
xy=21
x=21+y .......(2)
Substituting (2) in (1), we get,
4(21+y)=7y
7y4y=84
y=843=28
Hence, x=21+y=49
Therefore, x+y=49+28=77
