The ratio of copper and zinc in an alloy is 9:8 of the weight of zinc, in the alloy, is 9.6kg, find the weight of copper in the alloy.​

The ratio of copper and zinc in alloy =9:8
And,
The weight of zinc in alloy =9.6 kg.

Let the weight of copper to zinc in alloy be xkg

Then,
The ratio of weight of copper to zinc in alloy =x:9.6

According to the given statement,
9:8=x:9.6
8×x=9×9.6
Product of mean = Product of extremes

x=9×9.68=86.48

x=10.8

Hence, the weight of copper in alloy is 10.8kg.
