Solution

It is given that,

Ratio of income of two persons is 9:7

Let the income of 1st person be 9x and that of 2nd person be 7x.

Similarly,

Ratio of expenditure of two persons is 4:3

Let the expenditure of 1st person be 4y and that of 2nd person be 3y.

According to the question,

9x4y=2000 …… (1)

7x3y=2000 ……. (2)

Solving equations (1) and (2), we get,

x=2000 and y=4000

Therefore,

Income of 1st person =9×2000=Rs. 18000

Income of 2nd person =7×2000=Rs. 14000

Hence, this is the required result.
