The reverberation time of the auditorium with volume V and total absorption coefficient A is given by:
T1=0.17VA

Now when we will include n number of people each having a absorption coefficient Ap in the auditorium then the reverberation time of the auditorium will be:
T2=0.17VA+nAp.

According to question: T2T1=34

Substituting the above formula for T1 and T2 we will get n=400.
