The correct option is B $72 c m$
Let the length and breadth of the rectangle be $4 x$ cm and $2 x$ cm respectively.
$∴$ Area of the rectangle $= 8 x^{2}$
$= 288$
$\Rightarrow$ $x^{2} = 36$
$\Rightarrow$ $x = 6$
$∴$ Length $= 24 c m$
and Breadth $= 12 c m$
$∴$ Perimeter of the rectangle $= 2 (24 + 12)$
$= 72 c m$
