$Let the common multiple of the ratio of mango trees to orange trees be x . Thus, we have : Number of mango trees = 7 x Number of orange trees = 9 x According to the question, \frac{7 x + 5}{9 x + 5} = \frac{27}{34} \Rightarrow 34 (7 x + 5) = 27 (9 x + 5) \Rightarrow 238 x + 170 = 243 x + 135 \Rightarrow - 5 x = - 35 \Rightarrow x = 7 Now, we have : Number of mango trees = 7 \times 7 = 49 Number of orange trees = 9 \times 7 = 63$
