Let the present age of Rahim be ' $x$ '.
Present ratio $= 4 : 3$
So, age of his wife $= \frac{3 x}{4}$
After 4 years, ratio becomes $9 : 7.$
So,
$\frac{x + 4}{\frac{3 x}{4} + 4} = \frac{9}{7} 7 x + 28 = \frac{27 x}{4} + 36 \frac{x}{4} = 8 x = 32$
Present age of Rahim = 32
