Question

The ratio of two sides of a parallelogram is 3:4 and its perimeter is 42 cm. Find the measures of all sides of the parallelogram.

Open in App
Solution

Let the sides be 3x and 4x.
Then the perimeter of the parallelogram is 2(3x+4x)=2×7x=14x.
The given data implies that 42=14x x=42/14=3.
Hence the sides of the parallelogram are 3×3=9 cm and 3×4=12 cm.
