Given: Weight ratio
Tin $:$ Zinc $= 2 : 5$
Let the common factor between Tin and Zinc be $x .$
Weight of Tin $= 2 x$
Weight of Zinc $= 5 x$
Total weight of Alloy $=$ Weight of Tin $+$ Weight of Zinc $= 31.5 g$ (Given)
$\Rightarrow 2 x + 5 x = 31.5$
$\Rightarrow 7 x = 31.5$
$∴ x = 4.5$
Hence,
Weight of Tin $= 2 x = 2 \times 4.5 = 9 g$
Weight of Zinc $= 5 x = 5 \times 4.5 = 22.5 g$
