We get equivalent ratios, either by multiplying each term of the ratio by any same number or by dividing each term of the ratio by their common factor.

In the given question, if we divide each term of the ratio 126:42 by the common factor 6 then we get 126÷6:42÷6 i.e. 21:7.

Therefore, 21:7 and 126:42 are equivalent.

Hence, the answer for the given blank is 21.
