is carried out by taking 24 g of carbon and 96 g O2. The amount of other reactant in grams that should be taken so that nothing is left at the end of the reaction is :

2 moles of C is reacting with 1 mole of O2

24g of crbon will react with 32g of oxygen.

Amount of oxygen left =9632=64g

So, to complete the reaction, the amount of carbon required to react with with 64 g of oxygen = 48g

So, we need extra 48 g of carbon to complete the reaction and nothing will left at the end of reaction.

So, total mass of C to be taken is 72g
