Reason : A reaction between a acid and a base produces a salt and water. As in the case of ammonium hydroxide(NH4(OH)) and carbonic acid(H2CO3), the reaction takes place as follows -

2NH4OH + H2CO3 (NH4)2CO3 + 2H2O

As we can see, in the above reaction the formation of ammonium carbonate((NH4)2CO3) and water(H2O) takes place.It is a double displacement reaction.
