The reaction of n-pentene in presence of HCl will yield, 2-chloropentane.

A molecule of HCl is added to carbon carbon double bond.

Cl atom is added to less substituted C atom. The addition follows Markovnikov's rule.
The addition of hydrogen halides to unsymmetrical alkene takes place according to Markovonikov's rule.

When an unsymmetrical reagent adds to an unsymmetrical alkene, the negative part of the reagent gets attached to that unsaturated carbon atom which carries a lesser number of hydrogen atoms.
